New Discoveries

“Isn’t it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about?” — Anne of Anne of Green Gables

Don’t stop discovering and don’t stop asking.

Every day is a new day to discover something we don’t know about.  Its a new beginning; a new chance.  Its the same with our business, our contacts, our habits.  There is always a little bit of a new direction we can take in some aspect of our life; a new direction that can open up new opportunities and avenues.

New Beginnings

Starting your own business can be daunting and overwhelming.  Keep it as simple as possible by developing daily habits that will carry you through the tough times and the good times.  Make contacts, follow up, keep in touch.  Have a regular routine of making phone calls, going through emails and text messages, your LinkedIn contacts, Facebook contacts, Twitter contacts, etc.

When you are starting to build customers, keep in touch with them regularly.  Show personal interest in their lives, but keep it professional.   What can you do to make sure that customer knows you care?  Find a little something special that works for you to help that person realize that you care about them as a person and not just as a customer.   Do it on a regular basis.  Then you are developing a habit.   I like to send a little thank you note with a piece of gum enclosed.  They remember something different.

It Is Their Choice

Give up trying to figure out who can or who can’t, or who will or who won’t … whatever it is: listen, accept, act. The decision is theirs, not ours. Present your … whatever it is: product, opportunity, message, book, idea, hope. Let them make the decision to listen or not to listen.
